Song for MEANINGFUL MORNINGS

Vivekji had asked us a few days ago to create a song on/for meaningful mornings. My IMPOSSIBLE dream of writing lyrics for U2/ Bono will stay at best a dream but I thought I will use this opportunity to make a humble attempt in writing songs for MM, a community where there is communing with less judgment, more love, and acceptance.

I don’t know how to sing AT ALL but I will see if my teen daughter will. May have to bribe her (in a sattvic way). I have only a rough idea about the melody that goes with this song. Can be sung like Hamilton’s — ‘Aaron Burr, Sir’ or ‘Guns and Ships’ or whatever fancies and inspires you.

Everyone, please feel free to improvise.

Here is the version this jiva wrote (INSPIRED by the music of the amazing musical Hamilton)-

Spiritual Rap on Meaningful mornings

Self is an experience

that cannot be destroyed.

You limit yourself

with the delusions and desires.

You hide behind

the forms and the names

and keep on playing

this finite sum game.

(Interlude)

Aimless, Clueless (chorus)

Then came The meaningful mornings (in the style of booming voice)

You learn the lessons of

compassion and kindness.

In your interactions,

humility will express.

The Self that you hide

is timeless, ceaseless.

It is the Seer.

It is the witness.

Birth less.

Pure consciousness.

(Interlude)

You were clueless! (chorus)

Aimless. (chorus)

Then came meaningful mornings(in the style of booming voice)

The meaningful mornings

is the community weaved by reflection.

Articulating in introspection.

Our gifts multiply

when we commune.

We carry the torches

of infinite happiness.

The light within us

guides us to bless.

Creator is One

The universe is His manifestation

You ask-

What is the practical implication?

You chide, you compete.

You run in the rat race;

sometimes strong, sometimes weak.

Ah, this fascination!

(Interlude)

Helpless, Clueless (chorus)

Then came meaningful mornings (in the style of booming voice)

Do not attach yourself

too much with a thought.

Sacred responsibility is the way to Truth

That truth is God.

That truth is God.

That truth is God. ( voice fading away)
