The Person that fulfills that qualification is my dear friend who has been my guide. I have known her since our teenage years and even at that time, I knew that she was at different plane than others. She tried to show me The Way, then but I was engaged in the usual ‘teenagey’ things at the time and did not see what she saw.

Until my eyes ‘ awakened’ to see truly what she is. For the last six years, she has been leading me to our Home. Not only she is accomplished in secular world ( MD, engaged in clinical writing for research publications), but she is also very well versed in Vedanta, Ayurveda, homeopathy, writing, astrology, arts, philosophy, amongst other things. Most importantly she practices and lives Vedanta. She is most independent amongst all the people that I know closely.

She is my guru who connected me to Him for the first time. My words are not enough to express the gratitude I feel for her.

What if I was meeting her for the last time ?

She has always tried to make me independent too. She always says that she will be in my life only until I have something to learn from her. She says that -The true guru is one who makes the shishya independent…..

She practices love with detachment and I’m sure that, she will say good bye to me with smile even if due to my attachment I may feel sad and cry. She has showed me the Way and she is training me to be independent to follow that without holding her hand.

Interestingly and coincidentally, this is what she sent me this morning -

( from Richard Bach’s illusions)!!

My immense gratitude to the guides that He has sent to guide me.

What can I give her in return? To live by what she has taught me; to become a good student and live the vedantic teachings- that can be my humble gift to her.
