Smile

It can be one of the easiest thing to do, only if we allow ourselves to do it.

Yet we forget it sometimes. Today as I was grocery shopping, I noticed a young adult with a very sour expression on his face. I kept running into him and each time the same expression. I thought, he must be very miserable to walk around like that but may be not. He had a nice face, if only it would smile a little.Who am I to judge? All I can do is to plant smiles and harvest love, myself.

This is the time of anxiety for many as fear of C- virus is becoming pandemic. More deadly than this virus is the fear. I saw in the store, that people were hoarding up on many things as if it’s time of apocalypse. I walked into the aisle of Towel paper/ toilet payers, there was a ‘mela’ ( village fair) like situation. I have never seen the TP in so much demand. It was kinda amusing in a way. The Store had signs- limit 2 packs of toilet paper or towel paper per person! Stores were out of sanitizers and disinfectants. I saw what fear could do to any of us. I tried to smile as people hurried along, chased by fear. They must think I’m kookoo! Yet that didn’t discourage me.

As healthcare providers we are at frontline mostly for any such situation especially now COVID19 has landed in our county. Being serious doesn’t help. So Smile on! Remembering- do your best and leave the rest.

It’s ironic how we are so connected through social media yet the Corona virus has mandated social distancing. We as humans feel we are so much in control. Only He is!

During the past week, it was very very easy to smile for Clevelanders. We were blessed with Vivekji and family’s presence in Cleveland. The satsanga that went on for this satvik saptah….. how couldn’t one smile. It was tough for this heart to stop smiling. There was cheerfulness in the air. The loveliest smile of Shuka, made me feel “ God is the heaven and everything is alright with the world.” An infant’s smile can truly teach us the art of happiness.

Even in the darkest of time, I have been trying to remember that His light is within me. hopefully that shows up on my face as a smile.

SMILE on!

“Live in intentional, careful, cheerful way to know that you are divine.”~ Vivekji
