Set Fire to the Moon

While they get

the best of both worlds,

I knee and pray

before the idols.

In vain, I try to hold my cautious dreams.

Passing shadowed days.

Trying to catch the elusive moon

and enchain the sun in futile ways.

Incompetent to understand

that why the sun and the moon are slipping through my life,

as my life slips through my small hands.

~

And then you came.

Shining in my darkness.

You set fire

to my moon

and I watch the sun

rise from the ashes.

I watch as my ego gradually deliquesce.

I learn to worship the ideals behind idols.

I learn to dispel the blackness within me.

I absolve myself of my unforgivable sins.

I learn to light the fire within.

(‘you’ is the knowledge given by guru…..

Due to inner changes, the outer life has become meaningful, quieter, deeper, happier andbeautiful)
