LOSING ‘I’

(A Love story)

I stood before a caliginous mirror,

looking at a desolate stranger

with storm in my disheartened eyes,

rained by tears.

The incomplete Love story that we share

with our unfulfilled hearts,

agonizingly kills us each moment

as the ‘love’ became bondage,

conditioned by our thoughts.

Forgetting the causeless cause !

We both chose our volitional suffering,

ignorant of the immortal light

that illumines you and I.

Separated by several lifetimes,

we lived in duality.

The symphony of cavillous pain

deafened our mind’s diaphanous clarity.

Masked-the silence of our immortal souls,

as we struggled with the obstreperous waves

to get to the unexplored shore.

We cried, we prayed, we flowed.

We carried each other’s

entangled desires and perfidious dreams;

the tales of unfinished passions, the bridled screams.

Yet with undaunted faith, with resolute patience,

We flowed.

We cautiously unlearn our attachments

as we learn to decipher

the syllables of unconditional love.

We grow.

Gradually unearthing the art of letting go.

Nothing to win and nothing to lose,

when I become you.

Love becomes You and I.

Love, now enlightens our shadow lives.

Our minds envisage the realm of infinity.

Our past, present and future, now obsolete.

Love story of our souls-complete.

The path becomes clear.

From my life, I disappear!
