Disease-
Superimposition is a disease. Every day, every moment we are interacting with the world outside us. Because of lack of clarity, we take all that’s happening around us too seriously. Perpetually trying to control this outer world leads to agitation. Most of my superimpositions are related to attachments with loved ones, loss of control over things that I should not try to control, obsession with time. Only 3 days ago my mind got agitated when things didn’t happen on time. This is because I expect people to respect ‘time’, and when they don’t, it shakes me.
Healing-
Being in satsanga helps me to connect with my inner world. Spending quiet time helps me reflect on my faltering. The clarity of my ultimate purpose gives me confidence now to step back and analyze these superimpositions. I slip and fall but I’m able to pick myself up much quickly thanks to Vedantic classes and teachings that I try to apply. Much guidance comes from Vivekji’s discourses where I get inspired to implement these teachings.
Cure-
( once and for all)
Let Go and Let God
This quote from The RAW workbook by Vivekji best describes our trajectory -
“The glory of life is not in ‘never falling’. The true glory consists in rising each time we fall.”
~ Swami Chinmayananda
