Count your complaints
Had Vivekji given this Raw 5 years ago, my complaints might have been countless.
Thanks to my minds slow yet steady training through Vedanta, this Jiva has learnt to see positive in mostly everything.
Yesterday when my request for one day off( just ones day, when Vivekji is visiting our center) in January got rejected ( a new enterprise work rule that we have to apply for any time off, 3 months in advance !!), I felt an acute loss of freedom ( pvt practice Vs working for big healthcare system). Outside I just gave a big smile to my director and said Thank you without an ounce of sarcasm, but mentally I complained for a minute (10 years ago, if this had happened, I’d have given them a piece of my mind and been much agitated! Mentally I may have even punched one or two!!)
Yet yesterday I recovered quickly. I was back to my cheerful self, happy to be able to do what I do, with a deep sense of love for my work. It was trivial issue not to get a Day off when I want, but thinking of Bhagvans grace and knowing that all is His will, helped me accept it quickly.
We all are learning so much from Vedanta classes. We all try. We forget, we fall, we rise up. The most impactful lesson for me was, that when I apply what I learn, my mind changes and hence the life changes!
Reminded me of what Swami Tejomayananda says- “Life is a gift, living is an art.”
Why complain when we have this priceless gift and an opportunity to realize God!
