Body-

Maximum 30 minutes. After I got up, the body groaned a bit. I have been much stiller for little longer period in the past thanks to some training through Silence retreats guided by Vivekji. Now, it reminded me that I have been not been very consistent with yogasana practice. It was a reminder that healthy and calm body is also essential to harbor quiet mind. This also taught me that as my body gets older, more vigilance is needed for what I put in this body. Even though we should not identify with body, yet while living in this samsara, we do need to use this instrument wisely, for only one purpose of God Realization.

Breath-

I have become slightly more regular with pranayama lately. I thought that would help. Nevertheless the maximum I was able to hold breath was 24.8 seconds after full inhalation and only 14 seconds after exhalation.

Lesson-

A calm body can assist with quieter breath and mind. There is interdependence of mind and Prana. Mind is formed by satvik essence of tanmatras; Prana is formed by Rajsik essence. Prana is gross while mind is more subtle. Prana forms the outer coat of mind. The efforts to control our body and Prana can help us, in our journey to master our minds.
