A seeker’s journey
This lifetime spent,
in the maze of psychedelic frames.
I play clash of clans and games of thrones,
in vain.
Chasing pleasure, possession and name;
intoxicating myself,
with fleeting diamonds and ephemeral fame.
Somewhere deep, inside me
I feel-incomplete.
~
Hence, with shaved crown and bare feet,
these hands raise a begging bowl,
singing hymns, yielding a birch rod;
draped in a discarded lions-skin cloth.
In dense forest and solitary caves,
my ego roars, still unscathed.
Wearing a monk’s façade,
this ego thought,
that it was looking for God!
~
Then the guru arrives.
Holds my hand and shows me That eternal space-
where ego merges with The Truth.
Unconditional joy, by only His grace.
When I glimpse the Existence-awareness-bliss,
it changes my relationship
with pleasure, possession and position,
and the futility of all joys-conditioned.
~
I begin to see the One in All.
The sacred purpose,
aspiring to transcend the secular wall.
With His blessing, all life becomes divine,
beyond the space, matter and time.
Beyond the monk’s attire
and beyond worldly gain and loss;
there exists the very fabric of cosmos.
With guru’s guidance one sails across
this river of maya.
A seeker’s journey to Peace
through Vedantic sanayas!

(Humble attempt to understand the change in our relationship with pleasure, possession and position- Inspired by the Reflection question- ‘What is Vedantic Sanayas’, for week 8 of Manifesting Divinity and PujyaGurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s beautiful and insightful explanation of the same.
Our relationship with pleasure, possession and position changes when we get a glimpse of Peace)
